Tourism in Orissa, India is a veritable museum of India's sculptural and artistic heritage and has long been famous to scholars and connoisseurs for the magnificent Sun Temple at Konark, for the majestic temple of Lord Jagannath at Puri (renowned for the spectacular Rath Yatra chariot festival), and for the glorious temples of Bhubaneswar. The small but ever-growing number of sophisticated tourists who do manage to find their way to Orissa tourism are generally prepared with some knowledge of these temples, Puri tourism, of the delicate Orissan ikat textiles which have been become famous throughout the world.

  • DAY 01: BHUBANESWAR

    Arrive: Bhubaneswar by (Flight/Train)On arrival at Bhubaneswar airport / railway station transfer to hotel. Later if time permit half day sightseeing of tribal museum (closed on Monday), Khandagiri & Udaigiri Jain caves (oldest rock cut caves, the caves are reminiscent of influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Orissa).Overnight at hotel

  • DAY 02: BHUBANESWAR

    Morning after breakfast visit to famous city temples including Lingaraj, Parsurameswar, Mukteswar (known as the ‘gem of Orissan architecture’) & Rajarani temple. After lunch break visit to Nandankanan Zoo (closed on Monday) .This Zoo is famous for the white tiger safari and Botanical garden. Overnight at hotel

  • DAY 03: BHUBANESWAR – DHAULI – HIRAPUR – PIPLI – RAGHURAJPUR – PURI

    Morning drive to Puri en-route visit Dhauli (Buddhist stupa/peace pagoda), Hirapur (64 yogini temple), Pipli (the appliqué work village) & Raghurajpur (the Artisan village, the most famous attraction here are the Pattachitra (miniature paintings), palm leaf engravings, stone carvings, wooden toys, tusser paintings etc. Proceed to Puri and check in to the hotel. Evening visit of Lord Jagannath Temple (Non Hindus are not allowed)/Relax on the golden beach of Puri. Overnight at hotel

  • DAY 04: PURI – KONARK – PURI

    Morning drive to Konark to visit the Sun temple (one of the world famous heritage site & famously known as Black Pagoda). En-route visit to Ramchandi temple & Chandrabhaga beach (one of the finest beaches with a long stretch of clean sands & the beach has its own lovely serenity). Return back to Puri. Evening visit to beach market. Overnight at hotel.

  • DAY 05: PURI – CHILIKA – PURI

    Morning drive to Chilika lake at Satpada (largest brackish water lake). Take the boat cruise to visit the Irrawaddy Dolphins & Rajhans Island. Return back to Puri. Rest time relax on the golden beach. Overnight at hotel.

  • DAY 06: PURI – BHUBANESWAR - ONWARDS

    Morning after breakfast drive from Puri to Bhubaneswar airport to board flight for onward destinations
