9 Things To NEVER Do On A Cruise (Even Though You Would Want To)

cruise holidays

Cruising experience is unlike anything. It is the most wonderful! However, things take a slight different turn, toning down this ‘wonder’, when people start doing things that they shouldn’t in the first place. And it’s a major problem, among first-time cruisers, in particular. Some, in sheer excitement, end up embarrassing themselves, others, unknowingly, miss out opportunities to duple the fun on board.

Are you planning to go on a cruise soon?

First-time or no, with family or alone, here are 9 things you should NEVER do on a cruise even when you would want to:

  1. Stop being shy

Nobody knows you on the ship. So give up your introvert side; stop thinking that everyone is busy watching you. Loosen up and stop being shy. Just like you don’t care what others are doing others feel the same way.

  1. Don’t feel intimidated

You would find people of different cultures on board; people boasting their grand etiquette. Luxury cruises pack sophistication in abundance. Don’t let all these scare you. Chances are, the guy next to you might be just as comfortable as you in this new social life. So don’t be intimidated accommodate yourself to this new environment. Believe it or not, everyone is very friendly!

  1. Don’t just sit in your room

Even if it’s a grand room with a picturesque view from the window, don’t sit in your room all day. Go out, hit restaurants, take part in activities and make yourself feel like you’re on a holiday, not in a hotel.

  1. Don’t eat obsessively

You’re on a holiday, yes. And the foods on cruises are outstandingly delicious, yes. But don’t eat obsessively. First, you don’t want to fall sick here. Second, do you really want to gain so much of extra weight?

  1. Don’t sleep till afternoon

Wake up early in the morning. Hit the deck and enjoy the perfect view. Trust us, there can nothing be more beautiful than a rising sun from a clear horizon with cold breeze giving you shivers (and smiles).

  1. Don’t refuse to make friends

Mix with the crowd and soak in other people’s culture and experience. On the cruise, you will meet some very amazing people. Talk to them, share laughter, eat together. In short, make sure that by the end of this trip, you have made few friends.

  1. Don’t dress like you’re in your home

Dress appropriately. Not that you won’t be allowed for that, but don’t hang around in your sweats. While for different events you will be given dress codes, even if not, wear some classy clothes that put you up as a sensible and fashionable person.

  1. Don’t miss on night shows

There isn’t much of a nightlife on cruises except some cruise lines host great night shows. So after dinner, don’t rush to your bedroom even if it’s your honeymoon. Because the next day with people chattering about how great it was, you’re going to regret missing the show.

  1. Don’t be inconsiderate

The opposite of shy people is inconsiderates. And they create many troubles for the room service, staffs, and other cruisers. Don’t be one of them. Be thoughtful and caring. If someone wants that seat in that café, give them. If a child is crying loudly, don’t be irritated.

These are 9 things you should (and must) avoid doing on a cruise.
